"The best thing we did in our adoption journey was to sign up with Hello Baby! After a year long wait with our agency in Minnesota, we realized that we needed to expand our options - it became evident after seeing the number of families chosen over that time that our agency had too many families for the number of adoptions they did each month. To be honest, I didn’t know much about adoption consultants but went in with an open mind. Amy was super professional, knowledgeable, and kind and we knew we’d be in good hands and decided to sign up.

We ended up primarily working with her partner, Caitlin, and we were truly amazed at the level of support we got. After seeing a few expectant mother profiles, we quickly learned that our agency had not adequately prepared us for what we truly needed to know about adoption - we were so lucky to have Caitlin there to walk us through each and every case early on in the process. We received more support from Caitlin in those first few weeks than we did with a full year from our agency! Caitlin is truly an amazing person and she has a love for adoption and creating families. She was always available whenever we needed her. You don’t realize the kind of support you will need as you get into the process! In addition to being a truly kind person (along with being super knowledgeable about adoption!), I loved that Caitlin stuck to the facts and to the data. It’s tempting to want to go for every case you’re presented with right away after hearing nothing for a year - however she helped us talk through each one so that we could make the right decision for us!

About a month and a half after getting our profile book ready, and literally just a week or two after getting signed up with our last agency, we matched. It ended up being a bit of a bumpy patch during hospital stay (adoption is not always “easy”) but Caitlin was right there along the way in our corner rooting for us and being the emotional support we needed. It all ended up working out, and we are so lucky to have a beautiful baby daughter back at home!
